I love a summer wedding, where water and mountains meet. Say hello to Malaika & Samid's July union at Evergreen Lake House. There's something pure magic about shooting the element of water with wedding photography. I think it speaks to the limitless essence of love, and the venue really honors that with its construction. From intimate lakeside vows canvassed with mountains to a spacious log cabin reception, the whole day exemplified the natural beauty of Colorado.
I'm always in awe of how the elements of life come together on your wedding day. The water stunningly glistened behind Malaika & Samid as they said, "I do". The sky was the softest shade of blue, which paired so well with the light pink color palette of the bridesmaid dresses & floral design. Malaika's dress was an absolute marvel that seemed to stretch infinitely along the ceremony deck. Shimmering bokeh splashed from the lake for close up shots of their rings. The abundance of summer light streaking across everything my camera touched made for some of my favorite light & airy wedding photography.
Evergreen Lake House created a truly atmospheric mix of recreation & luxury. With the water beyond the ceremony deck being open to the public, I was able to capture an authentic combination of posed wedding photography with the candid bustlings of fishermen and kayakers. Incorporating all the distinct aspects of your wedding day and reflecting that back to you is my greatest privilege and the Lake House was perfect for exactly that. Being just 35 minutes from Denver, it's a lovely adventure style venue with sincere elegance.
On a quick note, I'd like to thank Malaika & Samid for the endless patience they exhibited to me. Never once did I feel rushed or unappreciated, and they went out of their way to include me in their day as one of their own. I tend to have a fly on the wall approach to my wedding photography. I like to think, if you don't realize I'm there, I did my job well. But they were incredibly supportive of my process, even allowing more time in their Bride/Groom session for me to play with some of my special lenses I'm not always able to in a rushed schedule. A wedding photographer is such an integral part of your day and I think making a real connection is one of the most important spiritual aspects of it for me. Malaika & Samid made me feel right at home with them, treating me with the same kindness they give to their family & friends, and I feel incredibly lucky to work with such genuine couples.
