It's 3:47 pm on a Wednesday in May and I'm smiling senseless in the studio over this maternity shoot with my dear friend, A. She came to me with a clear concept of a minimalism & natural light as the canvas for her session. I, without hesitation, said, "Yes, please." A is a home designer and I've been a fangirl of her light & airy, modern styling since the moment we connected. A strong visual artist in her own right, I knew all I had to do for this shoot was follow her eye.
We chose studio ONE Denver as the perfect locale for our maternity photography. It seemed everywhere we looked in the studio, natural light lived. I love how smooth the highlights came out in this shoot and that's in large thanks to studio ONE. We also had the privilege of capturing a stunning Mother's Day floral piece from Simply Petals by Annelise. I was over the moon, to say the least. Scroll to see some perfectly pink blooms.
Lately, I've been transfixed with this motivation to let my images speak for themselves. It's actually a hard thing to do in a world that is both visual & text driven. The sheer length of time it takes me to jot down a simple Instagram caption is testament enough to my difficulty with pairing thoughts to images. But sometimes, on a shoot as special & inspired as this, I want to be quiet. To allow space for the photographs to breathe & live fully. So, without further exposition, here are some more precious memories from my maternity photography session with A.
Love & hugs & more love to A and her beautiful design of this shoot. Thanks for keeping me inspired & grounded in my craft. It's always a pleasure capturing your family story. Truly.
